Really loving this Wildflower Barn Wedding!
Sometimes, when I step out the door after being indoors for days, I forget how the weather changes. You know, like normal weather does. So imagine when I tried to start my 3/3/3 wedding weekend (three weddings in three days in three cities) wear a dress. Wildflower Barn Wedding is all outside too.
On the coldest day of October. Nice. What luck. Much excite.
But honestly, with this busy season, I focused more on function rather than fashion. I’ve started to listen to music during the wedding day to keep my anxiety at bay. I wear sneakers for my awesome Big Toe Tendonitis. I’ve stopped making family shot lists before the wedding day…because it rarely works out as planned. Anyway, it’s cold and Amber’s bridesmaids are generous enough to let me wear her sweatpants and while I felt ridiculous…I rocked the hell out of these images. I’m the new fashion diva of photography. You knew me when guys…you knew me when.
ANYWAY, back to the freezing glorious day Amber and Chris got hitched at the Wildflower Barn, a gorgeous venue in Driftwood, Texas. While it’s all open air (which on a freezing day isn’t helpful), it really was a delightful spot for my clients to celebrate their big day!
I hadn’t met Amber or Chris before their wedding day. They hired me while living in New York and then they moved to Denver (which means I get to see them again next year when I fly up for a wedding!) but we kept in touch on Facebook. I’m actually kind of sad they don’t live in Austin…they know how to PARTY. Such good energy and an amazing group of guests, all of which were kind and wonderful to me. I REALLY loved the s’mores area and while I couldn’t eat any of it (thanks dairy allergy), the campfire was nice and toasty around 9pm at night. In fact, I think the sweatpants began to melt on me…so that’s why some people die in house fires…huh…..
Such a wonderful stupendous happy day to both of these lovebirds and I’m excited to have made new lifelong friends.
