Alamo Drafthouse Wedding

Check out this Alamo Drafthouse Wedding!

When I lived in Hawaii, people *loved* to talk in the movie theatres. I actually stopped going to the movies, because it was so bad. I didn’t want to pay $15 to hear commentary from an Ebert wanna-be. When I moved to Austin, the very first Austin thing I ever did was go to Alamo Drafthouse, I damn near wept in the silence. But I didn’t. Because then I would be bothering someone…LOL Since then, I have never stepped into an AMC. Of course, I’ve tried the rivals but the snarky marketing team of Alamo Drafthouse keeps me going back. Their menu is *very* disappointing for someone with my allergies (there are half a dozen, so it’s not a shock), but when I could eat any of it, I remember being VERY happy. hah! I would have never imagined though that I would be shooting weddings at the movies, specifically Alamo Drafthouse. When I wrote this blog about Alamo Drafthouse weddings, Liz found me!

I just got back from Denton, where I had the honor of shooting their FIRST wedding at this brand new Alamo Drafthouse. Liz and Strobel were just…dreamy. “I’m so happy to be here!” is all I could say when Liz pulled out onesies for everyone. Onesies. ONESIES. Everyone was so friendly, which is really nice. A lot of wedding parties ignore me unless they need something, so it’s awesome when I’m included or acknowledged outside of “get this shot.” I’m definitely finding some amazing clients. I love a good wedding at the movies. Liz actually found me from the Alamo Drafthouse wedding I had done a couple of years ago! Gosh…has it really been almost two years? Anyway, dream clients a’comin’. I knew I was finding my ideal clients when Liz showed me her Cat Bouquet. An adorable cat stuffy in place of flowers. AWESOME. Then of course, there was the hilarious surprise of a friend showing up as Guy Fierri to deliver the rings. What a surprise! It made me love this wedding at the movies even more!

Going to Denton was awesome, in so many ways. It’s growing as a city in general. I know this because it’s seriously lacking in Pokestops…

Enjoy this wedding at the movies and I’ll see you soon!
