2019 is going pretty darn well! January has been a whirlwind of insanity, leading to a temporary burnout. Lots of sleep and reading helped that out. A book I just finished was Heartless, which is by the author of the amazing Lunar Chronicles. I LOVE fairy tale retellings, so I recommend everything she has put out so far! I’m also aiming to edit the novel that I wrote last year. Slowly but surely, I will crush these goals!
One of my first sessions of the year was with Mikhal! It was SUCH a pleasure to have Mikhal in front of my camera again. She’s just radiance and kindness! This session was such a blast, using smoke bombs and dipping into freezing cold water. I last worked with Mikhal on her wedding day, with her husband Casey. She had one of my favorite weddings ever, at King River Ranch, that you can check out here! Mikhal is always down for an adventure, whether it’s in a poop-filled field (say THAT three times fast!) with donkeys or getting into freezing cold water in a stream. That’s right, during her maternity session, she got in the water!!!
I’m also learning how to use my new drone, which resulted in some pretty rad images! It’s such a finicky piece of equipment, but I’m enjoying the challenge!
