I LOVE this Vista West Ranch wedding!
I’m sitting here, trying to figure out how to start this blog. Where do I begin telling you about this Vista West Ranch wedding? So many options…
I think what struck me the most about Carly and Sam was their gratitude. Gratitude is something that is the main focal point in my life, hands down. In 2016, I had the word, “grateful” tattooed onto me, because I knew that if I wanted my life to turn around, it would require me to be grateful at the lowest point of my life thus far.
These two though, made me feel like I had been doing them a huge favor, photographing their wedding. The thank-yous flowed in a way that made ME grateful, more grateful than I already was to be there. Isn’t that how gratitude works? Gratitude eventually, hopefully, begets gratitude. And they had chosen their guest list well, where everyone was kind to me. Right before I left, one of the bridesmaids yelled, “you were fucking amazing!” Or something like that. Hah! Weddings like this, focused on the couple and love of the day…days like these remind me why I still do this. I don’t consider my job fun, usually.
But usually, I’m exhausted, in pain, hungry as fuuuuuck and tired of guests running into me on the dance floor lol
However…I still have a deep and unabiding joy for my job. I meet some of the coolest people, who trust me with their big moments. It’s an honor and an addiction. But a good addiction. A wonderful obsession.
